SIC 2021

Reinventing the multi-sport event of tomorrow

In partnership with the Lucerne 2021 Universiade, it was a unique opportunity to engage swiss academics in the development and the future of sport.

For this year’s theme, participants had to develop ideas for a sustainable implementation of major multi-sport events, and the identification of potential innovation in operations.

The 20 participating teams carried out projects about bringing Virtual Reality to the Olympics, energy generation and storage through athletes’ performance, and developed a concept for the 2035 Olympic games.

SIC 2020

Reshaping the future of cycling

The very first edition of the Sport Innovation Challenge in partnership with the Tour de Suisse! Our participants developed innovative solutions to one out of eight different problematics set forth by the Swiss cycling organization. The winners suggested a solution to the question: How can we engage digitally with the current Tour de Suisse audience? Moreover, students were offered a professional formation in entrepreneurship by the HUB UNIL.

5 projects were further studied and implemented by the Tour De Suisse!

It was a fantastic opportunity for us to work with the students. They think outside the box, came up with very interesting questions and even more interesting solutions. We are delighted with the ideas they created and will follow-up on them in cooperation with the students. We couldn’t have wished for better outcomes, really!
